Paper Delights Video

This is a companion video for the book Paper Delights. Techniques such as dry embossing, iris folding, paper quilting, bargello, basic paper folding and beginning book folding for accordion and lotus books are shown. It is ideal for papercrafters just starting out with card making, origami and bookbinding. You get to see techniques demonstrated. Cutting sizes and detailed instructions for the projects are found in the book Paper Delights. Also included in the video is a trip to the Japanese Paper Place and information for beginners about Japanese papers, especially chiyogami.

Kits

The papers in our kits are chosen for discerning papercrafters who are looking for quality papers to use in their work. Two of the special papers featured in this package are chiyogami and somegami.

Chiyogami papers from Japan are high quality papers that are silk screened with lovely designs. Chiyogami designs mimic kimono fabric patterns and the papers were originally cut up to make paper dolls. The non-fading, pigment-dyed colours used to make these papers are rich and lively. The care and skill that go into making chiyogami make each piece a treasure.

Somegami paper is evenly and intensely coloured and is made of strong kozo bark which is sometimes mixed with wood pulp. Somegami literally means dyed (some) paper (gami). These papers mix well with chiyogami as the colours are intense and the texture is a nice complement.
Delightful Strips
Featuring chiyogami and somegami papers this kit has 60 precut strips (1” x 7”, 2.5 cm x 17 cm) ideal for iris folding, bargello, paper quilts, paper weaving, paper beads and more.
Available in a variety of colour groupings which may include Spring Oranges, Red, White and Blue, Black and Gold, Royal Blues and Christmas Season.

Folded Delights
