The Scrapbook Craze
All around us the scrapbook craze is raging. What is it all about
and how can we participate in it? This evening Ruth Booth will show
you a new scrapbooking book that she has authored. She will talk
about the different lettering styles that she developed and how
she based many of them on traditional hands. Cherryl Moote will
demonstrate a monoline copperplate that she developed for scrapbookers
and you will receive a full exemplar and practice package to get
you started if you want to learn this hand. It would be wonderful
if members could bring scrapbooks, especially old ones, that have
examples of elegant writing in them.

Great Lettering of Toronto - This evening you will see a slide
show of great lettering in public spaces that can be found in and
about Toronto.
We will be featuring work by Louis Wint and by lettering artists
from bygone eras who worked in stone. If you know of great lettering
please let us know in advance so photos can be taken of it to add
to the slide show. We also hope to have a brief demonstration of
the tools and materials used in stone carving. A map to the sites
will be available so that you can find them on your own this summer.
